The full design process comprises five stages. Your garden may not
require all of these stages, and your specific requirements can
be discussed beforehand.
- Initial consultation
- Site survey
- Preparation of detailed design with colour drawings
- Preparation of full planting plans, construction
drawings and specification
- Tendering for, and monitoring of, construction
of the garden
Consultation – Robin Pargeter
will help you through the process of creating the garden to suit
you, from initial ideas to construction. The process begins with
a consultation at your home, when a detailed brief is taken from
you. This is an opportunity to discuss design possibilities and
to find out what elements you would like to incorporate in your
garden.
Survey - Following the consultation,
you will be provided with an estimate for surveying and design costs.
If you choose to proceed with the design service, a full survey
will be undertaken to assess existing conditions, including ground
levels. A complete photographic record will also be taken.
Design – Using your brief and the information
collected during the survey, an initial conceptual design drawing
will be created for you. This is an opportunity for you to discuss
the proposals and for any modifications to be made. A final detailed
design drawing will then be produced. This will include a full specification
of materials for use by a contractor for construction. You will
receive a full colour copy of the drawing.
Planting and construction plans –
Plans will be provided as necessary to accompany the design drawing.
Planting plans will include a full plant schedule. The construction
plans will enable any landscape contractor of your choice to build
the garden.
Construction – A reputable
and recommended landscape contractor can be arranged, either by
appointment or through tender. Robin Pargeter can act as your representative
during the process and monitor the work through to completion.
